What is the role about and who are you?
In the core of our innovative power systems are our fuel cell stacks. You are the one to develop them for various mobile and stationary applications, from concept to realization.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering & Product Manager, you will:
- Develop fuel cell stacks with all mechanical sub-components, i.e. bipolar plates, end plates, connection rods, etc. from concept design to physical prototype level.
- Design fuel cell sub-components and stacks in cooperation with the Fuel Cell Simulation Engineer.
- Generate 3D models and technical drawings, conducting DFM principles in the design process.
- Work with suppliers to conduct APQP and to ensure manufacturability and quality of the component designs.
- Travel to supplier sites as necessary.
- Assemble fuel cell stacks and conduct fuel cell bench tests – hands-on!
- Conduct power system tests; optimize fuel cell operation settings to meet performance and efficiency targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive or aerospace engineering; Master's degree is a plus
- Minimum 3 years of product design and development experience
- Knowledge of low temperature PEM fuel cell systems and use of hydrogen as a fuel
- Proficiency in at least one CAD software with sheet metal, part and assembly design skills
- Experience in DFM, APQP and supplier management on a technical basis
- Ability to work hands-on to fulfill assembly and testing tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
